WHY IT MATTERS TO A LENDER
The Riskiest Loan in the Book Is a First-Time Buyer on a Boat They Have Never Driven.
Boat lending already checks the borrower’s credit and the boat’s condition. The one input nobody checks is whether the borrower can operate what they are buying.
AVAILABLE TODAY
One Standard. One Clear Answer: Can They Operate the Vessel?
Everything in this section is built and in use.
We assess
An independent assessor runs the borrower through an on-water evaluation aboard their own boat: 42 skill categories and 486 observable items, from lookout and the rules of the road to docking, stopping and person-overboard recovery.
The rubric decides
Every skill is scored against one published rubric designed by a retired U.S. Coast Guard Commander, using a patent-pending scoring process. The assessor administers it; the rubric determines the outcome. Every critical skill that applies must be met.
You verify and decide
The borrower receives a certificate with a QR code and certificate number. Your team confirms it in seconds, with no system integration, and you set what it unlocks.
Professional assessors
400+ vetted assessors across 36 states. Each is background-checked, matched to the vessel class and observed on the water by our team before assessing. 54% are former military, law enforcement or first responders.
Conflict rules enforced by software
No assessor may assess someone they trained in the last three years, or anyone they have a family, employment or business tie to — including the dealer who sold the boat. Conflicted pairings are blocked at booking.
A record that holds up
Every assessment is recorded skill by skill, with the date, the assessor and the outcome. A credential is valid for five years.
BUILT FOR YOUR COMPLIANCE TEAM
Nothing in Your Credit Policy Changes During the Pilot.
No One Has Loan Data on Operator Skill.
Nobody can yet say how a verified competency result relates to collateral damage, delinquency or loss on a boat loan, because operator skill has never been measured at scale. We will not show you a number we do not have.
The pilot gives you the first look at your own borrowers: how many meet the standard, and where the gaps are. We report results as indicative until at least 250 completed assessments, and we report correlation, not causation.
THE PILOT
A Pilot in Your Market. See How Your Borrowers Score, Then Set Your Own Standard.
Pilot cities are Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa–St. Petersburg, the Florida Keys and Jacksonville; other cities can be added by agreement. Borrowers can be referred at the branch or the dealer desk, and they book directly with us. A pilot can run at no cost to the bank.
